KCB Next Generation

The Kentucky Council of the Blind Next Generation is a chapter of blind and visually impaired individuals under the age of 40. Our mission is to be leaders who inspire through knowledge, encouragement, and determination.

Next Generation started as one person's vision many years ago. Patti Cox, member of the KCB Board of Directors, presented the chapter charter to Next Generation at the 2014 conference and convention of the Kentucky Council of the Blind. Patti stated, "Ever since I was a young girl growing up in KCB, I have wanted a chapter in KCB especially for young people. This is a dream come true."

Since we received our charter, we have learned that our main focus is support. Our hope is that others across Kentucky feel welcomed, even with our group being based in Louisville.

Our chapter participates in technology chats, both on our Facebook page and in person. We provide peer support by attending community events and dining from time to time as a group. We sponsored a very successful seminar on various types of travel in May, 2015. Our Golden Apple seminar, featuring tips and how-to's on the latest iDevices, was extremely well-attended at the 2015 conference and convention of the Kentucky Council of the Blind.

If you love to laugh, learn, share, and feel you're a part of a chapter that works hard every day to support each other and those closest to us, we invite you to become a part of KCB Next Generation.
