Guide Dog Users of Kentuckiana

Guide Dog Users of Kentuckiana is a chapter of both the Kentucky Council of the Blind (KCB) and Guide Dog Users Inc. (GDUI). GDUKI advocates for the rights of individuals with guide dogs and provides opportunities for the discussion of issues related to guide dogs. GDUKI

  • serves as a support group where the day-to-day problems and joys of owning a guide dog can be freely discussed;
  • makes presentations to low vision support groups, local schools, clubs and businesses;
  • hosts in-person events in Louisville throughout the year;
  • maintains a free email list; and
  • hosts a program and/or workshop on a timely topic in November at the annual state conference and convention of the Kentucky Council of the Blind.

Meetings and Activities

GDUKI holds meetings via conference call at 7:00 PM on the fourth Monday of each month. Anyone interested in guide dogs or who uses a guide dog is welcome to participate. Attend conference call meetings of the Guide Dog Users of Kentuckiana by dialing (605) 475-6006 and entering code 294444.

GDUKI also holds activities at various times throughout the year. Activities are planned at our conference call meetings, and everyone is welcome to attend.

New Members Welcome

New members are always welcome. Membership is open to anyone who is at least 16 years of age or older and who lives in Kentucky or within 25 miles of the Kentucky border. Dues are $15.00 a year, and membership in the Kentucky Council of the Blind is also required.
