50th Annual Conference and Convention
This is your invitation to participate as an exhibitor and/or sponsor in the 2023 conference and convention of the Kentucky Council of the Blind, to be held Friday to Sundday, November 17 – 19, 2023 at the Best Western Louisville East Inn and Suites, 9802 Bunsen Way in Louisville. The convention will also be virtual on the Zoom platform and live-streamed on the Internet. Our theme is KCB Golden Jubilee – 50 Years of Accomplishments, and you are invited to participate as an exhibitor and/or sponsor, whether you live nearby or across the country.
Our exhibit and sponsorship opportunities are perfect ways for businesses, agencies, service providers, nonprofit organizations, and individuals to let attendees and listeners across Kentucky and around the nation know about products and services. Convention attendees are interested in low vision, audio, and braille products; technology, resources, and services for people with vision loss; and of course gift ideas for the holidays. They want to know about health and wellness programs, training opportunities, education and library programs, and much more.
You can customize your exhibit package to meet your specific needs. A limited number of 15- and 30-minute speaking opportunities are available for vendors on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. Use your time to introduce new products, offer support or tips to existing customers, demonstrate specific techniques for using a product etc. You may address the convention either in person or on Zoom. We ask all speakers to allow time for questions from the audience. The convention Zoom host will provide a time check if you wish, and will call on individuals who have questions. Your session will be recorded and included in a future edition of Sound Prints, KCB’s audio magazine that is broadcast several times each week on ACB Media 1 and is distributed to hundreds of people as a podcast and on audio CD.
Following your presentation, in-person exhibitors may use our convenient exhibit area to interact individually with attendees who want more direct hands-on experience with products or more detailed information about services. Hand out information, sell products, gather contacts – a great way to grow your business.
Our basic exhibit package costs $25 and includes 15 minutes of program time. Our deluxe package is $45 and offers a 30-minute speaking opportunity. All in-person exhibitors may schedule time in our exhibit area to meet their needs.
SPONSORSHIPS
Become a conference sponsor. There’s a sponsorship to fit every budget. Sponsors at the $100 level and above will receive free program time as shown below. Sponsors will also be listed prominently in the convention program, on the KCB website, and on the kcb-news email list. All sponsors will be acknowledged during the convention and on Sound Prints.
2023 KCB Golden Jubilee sponsorships include:
* Diamond ($1,500), Ruby ($1,000), and Emerald ($500) – 30 minutes free speaker and/or exhibit time;
* Sapphire ($300), Opal ($200), and Amethyst ($100) – 15 minutes free speaker and/or exhibit time;
* Turquoise ($50.00), Amber ($25.00), or Jade ($15.00).
DOOR PRIZES AND AUCTION ITEMS
Even if you cannot attend our convention in person or on Zoom, you can donate a door prize or auction item. Door prize drawings may take place during a specific session or event, based on your wishes. The 2023 KCB Auction will take place on November 4 and will be a Zoom-only event. Auction donors will be prominently recognized, both in the pre-auction publicity and during the auction when their item(s) come up for bid.
MORE DETAILS
If you will be presenting on Zoom, you must complete a sound check with convention planners during the week prior to the convention. Zoom sound checks are essential in order to ensure a high-quality listening experience for attendees.
You need to be present on the Zoom line or in person at least 15 minutes prior to your presentation. If you do not appear on Zoom or in person for your presentation, you will not be rescheduled.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
Hotel accommodations are available at the Best Western Louisville East Inn and Suites, 9802 Bunsen Way in Louisville. Rates are $94/night plus tax for up to 4 people per room. Rooms are spacious and have microwaves, small refrigerators, coffee makers and free coffee for your convenience. Free breakfast in the lobby and free use of the indoor swimming pool and fitness center are included with your night’s stay. Subject to availability, rooms will be upgraded to business suites at no additional charge. Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Make reservations by calling (502) 499-0000 by Thursday, November 9.
REGISTRATION
Now it’s time to register for the KCB Golden Jubilee convention by calling (502) 895-4598. Use your debit or credit card to register by November 4 as an exhibitor or sponsor to insure that you are listed in the conference and convention program. Please indicate whether you will participate in person or on Zoom and your preference for date and time; this will be considered as much as possible when we create the conference schedule.
