KCB Next Generation

KCB Next Generation

The Kentucky Council of the Blind Next Generation is a chapter of blind and visually impaired young adults representing many diverse backgrounds and places across the Commonwealth. Our mission is to advance the professional and personal development of the next generation of members of the Kentucky Council of the Blind. Our vision is to create an inclusive environment through professional and personal experiences that will transform the perceived value of advocacy organizations of the blind and visually impaired. We are a chapter of the Kentucky Council of the Blind and an affiliate of the American Council of the Blind Next Generation.

What do we do?

Since we received our charter, we have sponsored several sessions at the KCB Annual Conference and Convention and the Crossroads Leadership Conference focusing on technology and other issues of importance to our generation. We have hosted presentations on the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, living a healthy lifestyle, personal finance education, and other topical discussions just to name a few.

When do we meet?

Monthly business meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at 8:30 PM Eastern. A monthly Thursday Night Huddle is held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 8:00 PM Eastern. Both of these events are held virtually on the Zoom Cloud Conference Service and all are welcome. Please check the FaceBook group or e-mail listfor details about upcoming KCB Next Generation events and meetings.
